Networking Meeting
November 23 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Networking Meeting
NETWORKING & SME PANEL DISCUSSION. In this informal session, feel free to ask all of the wearisome questions you have about networking, how daunting it is and the etiquette. We are now living in the networked age, the measurement of power and influence is connectedness. The old vertical world of hierarchies has been replaced by a horizontal world of networks. We now need to continuously build our networks rather than waiting to build them when we desperately need them (which is too late!). Margaret Dorgan and a panel of your peers will share their insights into Networking, what worked for them starting out and what works for them now and how you too can build this muscle, despite your reservations. We will take you through the process of Networking in an enlightening and hands-on session where we will consider how you can lean into Peer2Peer support to take the loneliness out of running your own business.
How will it help YOU Learn to?
- Be a giver, not a taker
- Focus on being interested rather than interesting
- Why you should at events, act like a host – introduce people to each other and have a plan
- Practice purposeful networking – what do you need & want to get out of it
- Spend time with energetic people – seek out connectors
- Build weak connections and learn what Networks could work best for you
- Spend time with great networkers
