Lifelong Leaning – Erasmus+ 2025
Staff training, Palermo, Italy
21/07/2025 to 25/07/2026
In 2023, the LifeLong Learning team in Dublin South City Partnership secured accreditation with Erasmus+, as a Community Adult Education provider. This results in funding each year to promote learning opportunities for the various teams of people we work with.
Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
The programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.
It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also supports the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Having accreditation is providing us with the opportunity to widen our horizons, as learners and practitioners in adult education; to see how other countries and organisations work and what they do; and to share our experience both away and when we come back.
Between 21 and 25 July 2025, a member of the Lifelong Learning team participated in the training course “Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence for Teachers and Education Staff” in Palermo, Italy.
This week-long programme brought together educators from Spain, Bulgaria, Iceland, Ireland, and Portugal, creating a multicultural environment for exchanging experiences, ideas, and good practices.
The training focused on developing key 21st-century skills, including emotional intelligence, stress management, conflict resolution, and effective communication. Through interactive workshops and reflective discussions, participants explored practical approaches and methods that can be applied in adult education settings.
By the end of the programme, participants had strengthened their self-confidence, improved their emotional awareness, and gained valuable tools to support respectful, collaborative, and inclusive learning environments within their organisations and communities.
