Business: Freelance visual merchandiser

Visual
Merchandiser

As a freelance visual merchandiser, my business involves helping retailers and businesses create visually appealing displays and layouts for their products or services. I work with my clients to develop and implement effective visual merchandising strategies that capture the attention of their target customers, increase foot traffic, and ultimately drive sales.  My services may include creating window displays, arranging product placement, designing in-store signage, and coordinating with other marketing materials to create a cohesive visual brand identity. Overall, my goal as a freelance visual merchandiser is to help businesses showcase their products in the best possible light and create a shopping experience that is memorable and engaging for their customers.

My journey as a visual merchandiser has been shaped by my extensive experience working across various departments, including apparel, accessories, jewellery, beauty, homewear and many more. Over the course of 16 years, I honed my skills and built a reputation as a top-performing visual merchandiser, culminating in my most recent role as Head of Visual Merchandising for a global brand. I originally planned to go Free Lance the week covid hit. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, I saw an opportunity to use my expertise to help struggling independent businesses recover. I adjusted my business plan accordingly, and was able to create innovative designs and internal marketing and visual merchandising strategies that were relevant to the “new normal.” Thanks to my ability to adapt and stay ahead of the curve, I have been able to go from strength to strength in the past 10 months. I am grateful for the opportunity to use my skills to make a positive impact

Dublin South City Partnership has been instrumental in helping me grow my business in a number of ways. Firstly, they provided me with access to a range of business supports and resources, including training courses, workshops, and networking events. These resources have helped me develop my skills as a freelancer and expand my professional network, which has been invaluable for finding new clients and growing my business.  In addition, Dublin South City Partnership has helped me secure funding for my business through various grants and schemes. This financial support has enabled me to invest in new equipment, expand my service offerings, and improve my marketing efforts, all of which have helped me attract more clients and increase my revenue.  Overall, the support and resources provided by Dublin South City Partnership have been essential for helping me establish and grow my freelance business. I am grateful for their continued support and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
