Community Roots envisions every person living in urban communities across the land being able to grow and share some of their food. They imagine flourishing partnerships and friendships forming within connected communities everywhere — ones that cross the generational divide, and socio-economic and cultural backgrounds — between neighbours who have called their place ‘home’ their whole lives and those who may have only recently moved in.

Having piloted the concept in Dublin 7, harnessing all the goodwill, they are now branching out in Dublin 8, Dublin 15, Dublin 16, and Rush. The concept has massive grassroots support and has been welcomed by all. A lot of communities want to know how they can spread this concept, so it is a very simple scalable model, with huge social and environmental benefits. The idea has also proven very popular with the media.
