Conversation Salons

Conversation Salons was the brainchild of Heather Bourke, a Dublin-based life coach and group facilitator who has worked for over 30 years around personal growth and human potential. Heather possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from University College Dublin and a Masters in Cognitive Therapy Group Work from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Heather has trained as a Life coach in London, worked as a counsellor in America and as a social worker in a wide range of community services in Ireland.

Borrowing some inspiration from the Enlightenment Salons of the 18th century, Heather came up with the concept ‘Conversation Salons’ realising that people were tired of having meaningless chit chat. She realised that there was a growing desire for meaningful engagement on critical topics to gain understanding and perspectives.

The salons offer a place to meet other curious, open-minded, open-hearted people and have stimulating discussions to exchange provocative and challenging questions about self and society. It serves as a catalyst for fresh thinking creative new possibilities in a relaxed atmosphere of exploration and enjoyment. Set in an informal café style environment with agreed upon safe parameters, participants are encouraged to delve into topics of significance.
