Using design-led thinking to tailor climate actions within communities, ranging from water conservation to habitat creation, motivated Gobnait Ní Néill to establish The Grassroots Guild.

Recognizing the challenges faced by numerous communities, she embarked on the mission of identifying impactful projects for groups in Dublin 12, securing funding, recruiting instructors, and sustaining momentum. Gobnait’s unrelenting dedication and commitment to empower individuals, groups, and businesses to actively participate in restoring nature in their surroundings have left a significant impact on communities in Dublin 12 and 8, as well as other areas of Dublin.

 With support from entities such as the Dublin South City Partnership, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Inner City Enterprise, and Dublin City Council Enterprise Office, The Grassroots Guild was conceived. A community-led initiative, it offers intuitive DIY kits, engaging workshops, and informative walks and talks, all curated by Gobnait. Her efforts have garnered widespread recognition, including awards at the Dublin Social Enterprise Awards, and acceptance into the SEI incubator program. 

Through The Grassroots Guild, Gobnait continues to inspire positive change and foster environmental stewardship within communities.
